Since March 17, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis has been away from the team, dealing with a personal matter.
It turns out he's been looking after his son, Mason, who had complications from a hockey injury. Luckily, Mason's doing better now and is recovering at home.
St. Louis is set to come back to the bench for Montreal's game tomorrow against the Colorado Avalanche. He's thanked everyone for understanding and supporting him while he's been away.
"I'd like to thank Geoff Molson, Jeff Gorton, Kent Hughes, along with Trevor Letowski, our players, coaches, and hockey operations staff for understanding and facilitating my need to be with my family for the past several days,"
St. Louis said.
«We appreciate the Canadiens organization, our fans, and the hockey community for understanding and supporting us through Mason's injury and recovery."
"With Mason doing better now, I ask to please maintain a focus on the Canadiens team and the remainder of the 2023-24 season.»
