James Reimer has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons as of late but he's gone a step further by throwing a former teammate under the bus.

After boycotting the Sharks' Pride Jerseys for Saturday night's warmup due to his devoted Christian beliefs. While everyone has their choices of what to believe what they want, but Reimer may have gone too far by bringing an old friend from the Maple Leafs into the fold for no reason.

Hiding Behind Former Teammate

Postgame, the Sharks goaltender stood by his decision and even doubled-down by mentioning his friendship with Nazem Kadri. See below:

''In Toronto, Nazem Kadri as a teammate, loved him to death. I don't know exactly the extent of his faith, his Muslim faith. But he's a Muslim. I think you could talk to him and ask him if I treated him any different. I love him. I competed with him on the ice, we joked around, we did life together. And yet, people would understand if I wouldn't be able to wear a Muslim jersey in warmups, promoting the Muslim faith, being a Christian and a follower in Christ. He himself would fully understand that.''

Fans were already very upset at Reimer but his decision to bring up Kadri - who has dealt with enough racism over they years - into the conversation was a tipping point.

With some people even calling for the Sharks to drop Reimer.
