Tyler Bertuzzi signing has put the Leafs in a tough position
The Toronto Maple Leafs find themselves facing a significant cap hit issue, now exceeding $13 million over the limit.
One of the contributing factors to this predicament is the signing of Tyler Bertuzzi, inking a 1-year, $5.5 million deal during free agency.
even after LTIR adjustments the Leafs are still nearly $7 million over the cap hit.
They also just went to arbitration with goaltender Ilya Samsonov who was awarded $3.55 million which is a solid deal for him but doesn't help the Leafs cap situation.
While the Leafs made other notable acquisitions, Bertuzzi's addition undoubtedly impacted their cap situation, posing a challenge for the team's management as they navigate the financial constraints in pursuit of success on the ice.
