In an unexpected twist for the Winnipeg Jets, the decision to place 24-year-old defenseman Declan Chisholm on waivers took an interesting turn on Sunday. The team hoped he would clear waivers and be assigned to the American Hockey League, but as pointed out by Chris Johnston in a post on X (formerly Twitter), that wasn't the case. The news broke that Declan Chisholm had been claimed off waivers, and it was none other than the Minnesota Wild who made the move.

"Minnesota claims Declan Chisholm off waivers from Winnipeg," Chris Johnston reported.

Chisholm, a native of Bowmanville, Ontario, had showcased his skills in two NHL games for the Winnipeg Jets this season, contributing one assist and earning a plus-one rating. Additionally, he had a stint in the AHL, skating in six games for Manitoba and notching five assists.

The unexpected turn of events adds a layer of intrigue to Chisholm's journey, as he transitions from the Winnipeg Jets to the Minnesota Wild, bringing a fresh chapter to his professional hockey career.
