In a challenging turn of events, the Minnesota Wild face significant setbacks in their upcoming games.

Starting goalie Filip Gustavsson has been placed on injured reserve following a lower-body injury during the team's recent 4-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

Athletic journalist Michael Russo reports that Gustavsson will undergo another MRI, anticipating he will be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks.

The blows continue for the Wild as superstar winger Kirill Kaprizov also exited the Jets game early due to injury. The 26-year-old Kaprizov is expected to miss one to two weeks in his recovery.

Kaprizov, who has played 34 games this season, boasts an impressive record with 13 goals and 34 points, averaging 21:06 in ice time. On the other hand, 25-year-old Gustavsson, with a 10-9-2 record, 2.95 GAA, and .903 save percentage, had solidified his position as the starting goalie ahead of veteran Marc-Andre Fleury before his unfortunate injury.

With the Wild currently sitting second-to-last in the Central Division at 16-15-4, they find themselves just four points away from the final Wild Card position. The upcoming stretch of games will be pivotal for their playoff aspirations, but they will have to navigate these challenges without two of their key players, Gustavsson and Kaprizov.
