Terrible injury news strikes the Bruins: "He is going to miss some time"
Last night during their final road game against the New York Islanders, the Boston Bruins ended up losing a player to an injury early on into the game and just got some bad news.
Early on into their game against the New York Islanders, the Bruins announced that a forward left the game with a lower-body injury and would not return.
That forward is Matej Blumel. A player who is trying to make a name for himself and stay in the NHL with the Bruins big club.
Boston ended up announcing that he suffered a lower-body injury and he would not return.
UPDATE: Matej Blumel (lower-body) will not return to tonight's game.
It wasn't clear whether or not the Bruins were just holding Blumel out for precautionary reasons or whether he was actually dealing with a bad injury.
Well, following the game, the Bruins got some bad news whenever head coach Marco Sturm met with the media.
Blumel out long-term
After the game, head coach Marco Sturm confirmed the worst for Blumel, stating that he is going to miss some time with his lower-body injury.

Sturm: Blumel will be out for «a bit» with his lower-body injury.
The Bruins have a growing list of injuries once again and are back up to five current injured players.
The list includes Charlie McAvoy, Viktor Arvidsson, Casey Mittelstadt, Jordan Harris, and now Matej Blumel.
Now there is some speculation that one of Georgii Merkulov or Fabian Lysell are going to get a call up to the big club. Both of them have been having great seasons for the Providence Bruins.
