Defenseman Derek Forbort left Thursday's game against the Winnipeg Jets late in the second period and did not return.

Forbort Injured

The Bruins defenseman reportedly blocked a shot off the skate, and according to Matt Porter of the Boston Globe, head coach Jim Montgomery shared some troubling news regarding Forbort:

'‘Montgomery believes Forbort won't play the rest of the trip (ends Sunday in BUF).''

The Bruins just completed game three of five of the current road trip, which still has the Wild on Saturday and Sabres on Sunday.

On the bright side, however, this is the exact reason why Don Sweeney added to his blue line at the Deadline. Montgomery still has two defenders to choose from between Jakub Zboril and whoever was sitting out.

It's not surprising that Forbort is expected to miss the rest of the trip, as Porter also noted that he was spotted in a walking boot postgame:

''Forbort wearing a walking boot on his right leg after the game.''

Forbort finished the night with one hit and three blocks in 13:09 of time on ice. The 31-year-old is one of the many players in Boston that are enjoying a solid season, as he currently has 12 points in 54 games, including two short handed.

Let's hope he gets back to 100% for playoffs!
