According to The Athletic's Aaron Portzline, who covers the Columbus Blue Jackets the team has fired assistant coach Mark Recchi.
Recchi's tenure with the Blue Jackets has been short, only joining the team after the Mike Babcock debacle. The former Bruins and Hockey Hall of Famer still has a year left on his contract, which could sting a bit for a guy who prides himself on professionalism.
The Blue Jackets have yet to name a replacement for Mark Recchi on Head Coach Dean Evason's staff.
There's no official word on his next landing spot, but he will find his feet again, as he's held assistant coaching positions under Lindy Ruff(New Jersey Devils) and Mike Sullivan( Pittsburgh Penguins) since retiring in 2011.
He'll come highly recommended somewhere, stay tuned for development on the Wrecking Ball's next home.
