News of profound importance has rippled through the hockey community today. The QMJHL has unveiled a series of fresh safety protocols for the upcoming 2023-24 season, including an all-encompassing ban on fighting.

In a groundbreaking move, the league has decreed that any altercation resulting in a fight will promptly result in the expulsion of both involved players from the ongoing match. Adding to the gravity of this change, players who take the initiative in starting a fight will now find themselves handed an immediate one-game suspension.

Furthermore, the player determined to be the aggressor in the skirmish will be met with a mandatory two-game suspension at minimum. This takes the consequences to an even higher level.

On top of these changes, any player entangled in at least two fights within a single season will now be slapped with an automatic one-game suspension, reinforcing the league's commitment to altering the landscape of player conduct.

This pivotal announcement signifies a dramatic shift in the league's approach, underscoring its unwavering dedication to cultivating a more secure playing environment while discouraging the occurrence of fights throughout the QMJHL.
