The Boston Bruins made a major announcement on Tuesday.

The team announced that they'll be giving Rick Middleton the ultimate honor by retiring his #16 before their November 29th game against the New York Islanders.
Middleton skated with the Bruins for 12 of his 14 seasons in the NHL.
"Mr. Middleton's number 16 has long deserved to be raised to TD Garden's rafters," Bruins CEO Charlie Jacobs said in a release.

Now 64 years old, the former Bruins forward scored 448 games over the span of his career, 402 of those goals came in a Bruins jersey.
He ranks third on the team's all time goal list and fourth on the team's all time points list with 898, behind Ray Bourque, John Bucyk and Phil Esposito.
