While some fans are waiting for the Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney to make a big move, the team made a different kind of roster move on Monday.

The team and Sweeney announced that they've placed forward Martin Bakos on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reported the news on Monday.

Bakos had signed with the Bruins back in June, however wasn't able to get it going in the AHL. The 28 year old had just four points in 16 games in the AHL and didn't look like he was going to crack the NHL roster anytime soon.

It was the first taste of North American action for the forward and probably the last and Bakos will likely return to Europe where he's played his whole career between the KHL, Czech leagues and Slovak leagues.
