In the aftermath of the Bruins' win against the Leafs in game 4, former NHL defenseman Ryan Whitney, a Boston native, took to social media to share a photo. However, his post has sparked outrage among fans.

Leafs fans I feel for you guys. This ain't right.

Last night, Whitney shared a picture that has been widely condemned as inappropriate, insensitive, and disrespectful by fans.

I'm not a fan of the Leafs but what Ryan Whitney posted earlier today was way offside. That is not okay.

Sadly, terrible people are going to use AI for awful reasons. Block and report. Don't share, don't re-post.

It's apparent that Whitney didn't anticipate the backlash his post would receive.

Just when you thought hockey culture couldn't get any worse, Ryan Whitney is here to remind us how comparable being forcefully raped is to losing a hockey game.

Despite the criticism, the photo remains on his X page, suggesting that he may not be concerned about the negative reaction from fans.
