Former Boston Bruins player, Blake Wheeler has made a major decision after being eliminated by the Florida Panthers in the playoffs.

After being eliminated in 6 games by the Florida Panthers, the Rangers' Blake Wheeler will retire from the NHL.

Wheeler had been sidelined after an injury suffered in a game against the Montreal Canadiens.

He had sat on LTIR until the end of the regular, only returning to play during the playoffs. Wheeler would only play in Game 4 during the Eastern Conference Finals.

When Wheeler was asked by the media, about a possible return to the NHL next season, there wasn't a definite no, but it sounds like a no:

Blake Wheeler isn't sure if he's going to play next season. Talked about his kids being at an age where he'd like to be around. Said he's going to take time to talk things through with his wife. No decision yet. #NYR
