The Toronto Maple Leafs clinched their playoff spot last night which guarantees a first round matchup between the Leafs and Boston Bruins.
The Bruins currently hold a four point lead on the Leafs however don't have home ice locked up just yet.
Clinching home ice can happen as early as tonight if the Bruins beat Columbus and Toronto lose to Carolina.
A Boston win along with a Toronto OT or shootout loss would give Boston a five point lead which would be really hard for the Leafs to catch up on.
If both teams win tonight the Bruins will be looking at the same scenarios Thursday.
The only likely scenario that the Leafs would clinch home ice would be the Bruins losing all their games and Toronto winning all of theirs.
Here's a look at both teams final three games:
BOSTON - At Columbus, at Minnesota, vs. Tampa Bay.
TORONTO - vs. Carolina, vs. Tampa Bay, at Montreal.
