Jim Montgomery shares injury update on Jake DeBrusk
Boston Bruins forward Jake Debrusk was injured during the season opener against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday. DeBrusk left after a hit near the end of the second period and did not return to the bench for the third. The Bruins later announced that the forward would not return to the game with an upper-body injury.
The Bruins had their first practice since Wednesday's game Friday morning, which gave a worrying update on DeBrusk's status.
After the morning skate, head coach Jim Montgomery gave a report on DeBrusk's injury status. As per Joe Haggerty of Boston Hockey Now:
''Jake DeBrusk out with an upper body injury for tomorrow's game. Trent Frederic will draw in for the Bruins''
Montgomery shared that DeBrusk will not play tomorrow. However, he could be back sooner than later, as the injury isn't as bad as they initially feared.
