This is it! Win or go home!
The Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes are getting set for the do-or-die game seven of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal playoff series.
The Hurricanes have taken all games in Raleigh in rather convincing fashion, thanks to two 5-1 wins and one 5-2. At the same time, the Bruins came away with wins in all games at TD Garden in Boston by a two 5-2 score and a 4-2 game. The best-of-seven series is now 3-3, with both teams on the edge of being eliminated from the postseason.
The Bruins got great news on Thursday right before puck drop that
Hampus Lindholm had been cleared to play. It looks like Cassidy will be most likely be going with the same lineup that got the team a 5-2 win in game six, with
Chris Wagner and
Matthew Grzelcyk out again.
So. this is what the Bruins' lines will look like for game seven:
Marchand – Bergeron – DeBrusk
Hall – Haula – Pastrnak
Frederic – Coyle – Smith
Foligno – Nosek– Lazar
Lindholm – McAvoy
Reilly – Carlo
Forbort – Clifton
Antti Raanta will start again in game seven for Carolina. Forward
Jordan Martinook is still out from a lower-body injury he suffered in game three. It appears that
Steven Lorentz may make his postseason debut.
So expect the Hurricanes' lines to look as such:
Svechnikov - Aho - Jarvis
Domi - Trocheck - Teravainen
Niederreiter - Staal - Fast
Lorentz - Kotkaniemi - Stepan - Necas
Slavin - DeAngelo
Skjei - Pesce
Smith - Cole
Puck drop is set for 4:30 pm EST at PNC Arena in Raleigh. Scoring first might be the most crucial part of tonight's game. Every team that scored first in a game seven of the 2021 playoffs, won. The team that scores first is 138-46 all-time in game sevens in NHL history.
