The Boston Bruins have been looking around to add some offensive depth and they might have found a match.
We heard earlier today through Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now that the Bruins have interest and could be contemplating trading for Vancouver Canucks' forward Jake Virtanen.
It's not surprising as Canucks' insider Patrick Johnston has already reported that the team is shopping Virtanen along with forward
Adam Gaudette.
Now one of the league's top insiders confirms the B's interest.
On his latest "31 Thoughts" podcast, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman said the Bruins are closely monitering the Virtanen situation.
"I think one of the teams that has been sniffing around Virtanen is Boston...I think Ottawa's been a team that has had some interest with Virtanen in the past, that might be easier cause it's Canada."
Friedman didn't reveal what the possible asking price could be, but Murphy reported earlier a possible Virtanen for Jake DeBrusk swap could make sense.
Would you like to see Virtanen in a B's uniform?
