Friday saw former NHL star defenseman P.K. Subban share his candid take on Thursday night's clash between the New York Rangers and Colorado Avalanche.

The NHL-leading Rangers clinched a 3-2 win in a shootout, with Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck securing the victory.

Subban cautioned fans against betting on the Rangers for a Stanley Cup win this spring, asserting the Avalanche and their star players outshine New York.

He likened Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Mikko Rantanen to Panarin, Adam Fox, and Trochek. Subban emphasized the Avalanche's unmatched depth and credited Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin, who made 38 saves.

The Rangers are NOT the best team in the league

While Subban acknowledged the possibility of the Rangers claiming the Presidents' Trophy, he hinted at the curse associated with it.

He anticipates an enthralling series if the Rangers and Avalanche meet in the playoffs. Subban's analysis garnered significant fan reaction on social media.

In the Rangers' victory, they halted MacKinnon's 19-game point streak, marking his first home game without a point this season. MacKinnon's streak ranks second in NHL history, trailing only Wayne Gretzky's 40-game run in 1988-89.

As playoffs loom, Subban acknowledged the unpredictable nature of postseason hockey. Yet, he emphasized the potential for a riveting showdown should the Rangers and Avalanche meet in the Stanley Cup Final.
