With David Backes looking like he's got himself back in the Boston Bruins lineup, Ryan Donato looks like the odd man out.
Sure one could easily call out Donato's one goal in the last 10 games as being a reason Donato is in the press box. However Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy has taken him out of the lineup for one specific reason.
Cassidy says that Donato hasn't been working hard enough and needs to be way stronger on the puck if he wants to be in the lineup on a regular basis.
It's not like a flat tire you put air in and it gets fixed, Cassidy https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/bruins/2019/01/19/weakness-for-ryan-donato-his-strength-puck/T1UsZ0BvDVggfiy4UHYZTM/story.html It takes a while. Some guys have it naturally.
Sounds like Donato is really going to get back to work if he wants to play again.
