Stanley Cup Finals set to be delayed following major announcement
The Stanley Cup Finals game three might get delayed following a major announcement from the Florida Panthers.
The state of Florida was hit with a big storm at the start of this week and now Panthers insider George Richards of Florida Hockey Now has reported that the weather is affecting the teams flight to Edmonton.
This monsoon which has impacted South Florida the past two days is affecting the #FlaPanthers flight to Edmonton.
They are delayed, but expect to get there tonight.
Flight scheduled for 1 but many players and staff still at complex.
The Edmonton Oilers flew back to Edmonton after game two against the Panthers, where the Panthers decided to take an extra day before flying to Edmonton for game three.
There are many reports that considering how long the flight is depending on when the Panthers do leave that game 3 might get delayed. The Panthers have a 6 hour flight which is 2,543 miles to get to Edmonton.
The Panthers cannot get to Edmonton until at least 8pm local time tonight -- and probably much later. Ground stop in Fort Lauderdale until at least 4pm.
The Florida Panthers currently lead the series 2-0 heading to Edmonton, but might be without one of their key pieces in Barkov as there hasn't been any update on him after being taken out of game 2 by a dirty hit from Leon Draisaitl.
