The 2024 NHL Draft Lottery results have officially been announced, with the San Jose Sharks winning the first pick with 18.5% odds, as revealed on ESPN and Sportsnet.
The reveal followed an earlier slip by ESPN insider John Buccigross, who accidentally posted a photo indicating the Sharks' win, which he then quickly deleted.
The top prospect for this year's draft is Macklin Celebrini, a standout from North Vancouver, BC, who won the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA MVP for Boston University, becoming the youngest recipient in history.
Adding intrigue, Celebrini's older brother, Aiden, was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks last year.
The brothers, both fans of the Canucks, now face the prospect of an NHL sibling rivalry as Macklin likely heads to San Jose.
