NHL fans have long thought that the officials of the game have "rigged" or "tilted" in favour of a particular outcome, but a recent Twitter conversation proves that maybe things run deeper than we think.

Writer and comedian Filipe Dimas was actually the first one that pointed out the incident with a screenshot of a Twitter conversation between former NHL referee Tim Peel and former player Brandon Dubinsky:

Tim Peel responds to one of Dubinsky's comments by saying:

"I'll come if you buy me a beer Duby! I remember playing blackjack with you at the Cove. We were on a heater!"

It's unclear if this is while both were still in the NHL, but either way, it seems like a red flag if players and referees are gambling and partying together. Even though it's just blackjack, and they're not betting on NHL games, it still seems like a huge red flag.

Dubinsky hasn't played in the NHL since fracturing his orbital bone in a fight against Zack Kassian of the Edmonton Oilers on December 12th, 2017, while he was a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets. The league fired Tim Peel after he was picked up by a TV microphone saying he wanted to give the Nashville Predators a penalty, an incident that put the notion of «make-up» calls squarely in the spotlight.

So, it turns out that this new incident with Dubinsky is just another on a list for Peel:
