After having one of the worst seasons in nearly a decade, the Boston Bruins will be looking to improve their forward group, and a recent announcement revealed the Bruins may be in talks to acquire a former 40+ goal scorer and Stanley Cup Champion.

One of the Bruins top priorities this off-season has to be adding a top-six winger, and now a new name has surfaced and could be a perfect fit for the Boston Bruins.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli just revealed a new elite winger the Boston Bruins could acquire via a trade, and finally replace Jake DeBrusk, who the Bruins lost for free last off-season.

Bruins To Trade For A Former 40+ Goal Scorer

Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff recently revealed a new Trade Targets board and reported that Jonathan Marchessault might be looking for a change of scenery.
"The belief is Marchessault is open to moving on after one year in the Music City," Seravalli wrote.

The Boston Bruins have been looking to replace DeBrusk since losing him, and looking for a boost in their top six, and Marchessault could be that player.
If the Boston Bruins did trade for him, he would instantly give the Bruins a boost to their offense, and could help them bounce back, making the playoffs once again.
He would give the Bruins another threat on their powerplay as well, as during the 2023-24 season, Marchessault ended up scoring 42 goals for the Vegas Golden Knights.
And a big bonus would be that he wouldn't be a rental if the Bruins traded for him. He is signed to a very reasonable contract at $5.5 million, and it doesn't expire until the 2028-29 season.
Marchessault did have a down year with a terrible Nashville Predators team, appearing in 78 games he only had 21 goals, 35 assists for 56 points. He's hit the 30-goal mark three times in his career and also won the Conn Smythe Trophy when the Golden Knights won the Stanley Cup just two years ago.
