After the Oilers placed goalie Jack Campbell on waivers and assigned him to the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, speculation is rife among fans and analysts about potential trade targets.

GM Ken Holland is under pressure to address the team's goaltending needs promptly.

Trade possibilities with teams like the Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings, each with three goalies, have been discussed.

Despite talks with Montreal's Jake Allen, no imminent developments have surfaced, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Rumors also link the Oilers to goalies Jordan Binnington of the St. Louis Blues and Carter Hart of the Philadelphia Flyers. However, the complexity of these transactions could pose challenges.

In a surprising turn, insider Kevin Weekes proposed a bold trade scenario on OverDrive, expressing a willingness to

"move heaven and earth"

to acquire Jeremy Swayman for the Oilers. Weekes humorously emphasized his commitment by saying he would
"pay the moon, the stars, and the sun,"

even suggesting involving one of the three wisemen in the deal (source).

Notably, Swayman's name had previously surfaced in connection with the Oilers. Before the season, rumors circulated about Holland inquiring with the Boston Bruins about Swayman and Linus Ullmark.

Swayman eventually agreed to a one-year arbitration deal worth $3.475 million in the summer. The Oilers' pursuit of Swayman seems unexpected and ambitious, aligning with Weekes' advocacy if he were in Holland's position in Edmonton.
