As its tradition, the Bruins announced the teams winner of NESN's 7th Player Award for the 2022-23 season prior to the last home game of the regular season.
Capping Off an Impressive First Year
The award is voted on by fans and is given to the Bruins' player who ‘'exceeded the expectations of Bruins fans during the season.''
Before puck drop against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night, NESN's Jack Edwards presented Pavel Zacha with the trophy. See below:
Zacha had a tremendous first season in Boston, as he set career highs in every category with 21 goals and 36 assists in 80 games. Barring an injury or a rest day, the 26-year-old will most likely appear in all 82 games for Jim Montgomery this year.
The forward joins Jeremy Swayman (2022), Charlie Coyle (2020), Charlie McAvoy (2018), David Pastrnak (2017, 2015) and Brad Marchand (2016, 2011), as current players to have won the award.
