In the hockey landscape, Bruins captain Brad Marchand recognizes the enduring greatness of Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby.

Having shared the ice with Crosby at the national level for Team Canada and facing off against him in Boston-Pittsburgh matchups, Marchand considers Crosby among the NHL's elite.

Despite Crosby's age (36), Marchand contends that he's not receiving the credit he deserves, overshadowed by younger players.

Marchand emphasizes,
"I think he's still, I'll say, one of the best in the world, but he's not really getting the credit he deserves right now... he's by far the best player in the league."

Marchand further notes that Crosby's prowess extends beyond playing; it's rooted in meticulous preparation and a dedication to continuous improvement throughout his career.
"The way he trains and takes care of himself and is always trying to get better is competitiveness, on and off the ice. It's just it's unmatched,"
Marchand said.
"He's created an environment for himself where he'll be able to play at that level for as long as he wants to."

While Marchand and Crosby are close in age, the Penguins center's four additional years in the NHL contribute to his seemingly ageless presence on the ice. Marchand attributes Crosby's longevity to his training, self-care, and relentless pursuit of improvement, creating an environment for sustained high-level performance.

As Marchand expressed to Pat McAfee, the recent game between Boston and Pittsburgh held significant bragging rights. However, this time, Crosby's Penguins emerged victorious with a 6-5 win. Marchand humorously noted,
"He's a humble guy. He doesn't rub it in too much. But he may take a shot every now and again. It's usually face-to-face that he does that."

Looking ahead, Marchand and the Bruins anticipate a rematch against the Penguins on Mar. 9 at TD Garden, eager to reclaim bragging rights in their ongoing rivalry. The main news, the outcome of the recent game and Marchand's banter with Crosby, is strategically placed at the end, creating anticipation for the upcoming rematch.
