The one thing that has hindered Don Sweeney as GM of the Bruins is drafting but he's found some gems in recent drafts, including 2022.

No 1st Round Pick? No Problem

With out a selection in the opening round of the 2022 draft, Boston's first pick landed at 54th overall. With that second round pick, the Bruins selected forward Matthew Poitras.

Now, with a full regular season in the books since being drafted, Poitras has looked more and more like a steal at where Sweeney got him.

Poitras, 19, finished with 16 goals and 79 assists for the Guelph Storm. He finished second in assists and sixth in points among OHL leaders.

Through three playoff games against the Sarnia Sting, Poitras leads his team with one goal and 3 assists. However, they're currently trailing 3-0 in the best of seven series.
