Charlie McAvoy was an absolute force to be reckoned with on Friday night in Florida, as the defenseman led the Bruins to a big game-three win over the Panthers.

Stepping Up With Key Absentees

McAvoy showcased that he can quite literally take over a game and control the opponent using his physicality, and despite not being the biggest guy on the ice, he punished Panthers' forwards all night.

And postgame, Taylor Hall pointed out one hit in particular set the tone early in game three:

''I felt what set the tone for us was Charlie McAvoy laying a big hit on the 1st shift. That was a tell-tale sign of the night of how hard we were gonna play. The 1st period you want to dictate the play & you want to play Bruins hockey & I thought we did that.''

Perhaps the biggest moment of the game was when he stepped up on Anton Lundell late in the game and immediately stopped a Florida rush up the ice.

McAvoy's career-high for hits in a playoff game is 8, and he's done it twice before, as both have come in this series against Florida (Game 1, Game 3).
