An enduring figure in the National Hockey League's history, Don Cherry remains woven into the sport's fabric despite his absence from regular broadcasts.

Cherry, renowned for his advocacy and passion for hockey, shared somber news on Saturday. The hockey community learned of the untimely passing of former Mississauga IceDogs forward, Scott Page, at just 44 years old.

Serving as the inaugural captain for the IceDogs, a franchise now known as the Niagara IceDogs and co-owned by NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, Page's legacy is intertwined with the team's early history.

Was so sad to hear the passing of Scott Page, the first captain of the Mississauga IceDogs. He was a tough as they come and a great leader. Godspeed Scott.

Despite a career spanning the OHL and St. Thomas University, Page's untapped potential lingers. Condolences extend to the Page family and all those touched by Scott's presence.
