Marchand Was Nearly Bergeron's Neighbor, If It Weren't For His Wife

Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand are best friends, on and off the ice, but they were also almost neighbours, until one of their wives vetoed that idea.
Too Much Time Together
In a recent interview with Amalie Benjamin of NHL.com, Marchand shared a funny story of how he badly wanted to be neighbours with the Bergeron's.
As per Benjamin:
When the house across the street from Patrice Bergeron came up for sale, Brad Marchand's eyes lit up. He was all in, prepared to move out of his place in the North End and take up more suburban living. Marchand's wife, Katrina, wasn't exactly on the same page.
Paraphrasing from Benjamin's in-depth write up, Bergeron and Marchand sat beside each other and remembered the story as follows:
Marchand: ''The house across the street from him, I wanted to buy. I swear to God.''
Bergeron: 'I was trying to get him to buy it.''
Marchand: 'It literally looked at his front door.''

Apparently, Marchand's wife explained wanted to stay in Boston but the two Bruins joked that maybe it was for another reason too.
Marchand: ''She was like, you'll leave me. He's got a pool we can use!''
Bergeron: 'Maybe that's why.''
Marchand: ''Can I just move into your basement? I'll be your full-time babysitter.''
Bergeron: 'Maybe that's why.''

All jokes aside, the veteran duo have been a staple on Boston's top line for over a decade.
Let's hope Bergy's back for game two to help lead the Bruins to another Stanley Cup!
