While Patrice Bergeron's status was labelled as precautionary, GM Don Sweeney's comments didn't relieve any stress for Bruins' fans.

More Than Just Precautionary?

Boston's captain has been absent from the team's last two practices prior to the start of playoffs. Despite many reports of Bergeron being held out due to ‘'extreme caution'', Sweeney didn't seem so sure by his comments.

''Taking an extra day again today, obviously. That's to be decided (if he plays) tomorrow.''

‘'If he feels well enough, he'll play. If not, we've done a really good job down the stretch of trying to — (Tomas) Nosek missed a game, was under the weather. (Jeremy Swayman) was off today, under the weather. We're just trying to monitor that and make sure we balance it out.

«Patrice doesn't need extra days of practice. If he feels better, he'll play.''

While Sweeney doesn't necessarily say he's worried Bergeron won't play, his comments won't exactly be reassuring to Bruins fans who are worried about their captain.

On the other hand, the one person who knows Bergeron better than himself, Brad Marchand, revealed that he believes he'll be suiting up for game one on Monday. Or maybe, it's all just mind games to mess with the opponent now that it's officially the postseason.

I guess we'll have to wait and see at puck drop! Which is set for 7:30 EST on Monday night at TD Garden.
