The Bruins season and home opener is on October 11 against the Chicago Blackhawks and newly drafted #1 overall pick Connor Bedard. Sweeney has made some changes beforehand, and these are the three players down the core that you should look forward to see playing.
1: Patrick Brown - Patrick Brown was one of the two players signed to a two-year deal this off-season. Brown is 31 years old and played for two teams last season (Philadelphia Flyers and Ottawa Senators). The former Senator had 12 points in 61 games last season and could be a good healthy scratch for any injuries.
3: Milan Lucic - Milan Lucic was signed to a one-year deal to return to Boston, most likely for his final season in the NHL. The 36-year-old veteran is a big winger and averaged 2.5 hits per game with his time with the Calgary Flames and adds a physical presence that is needed on the fourth line.
