Two Bruins Prospects Named to AHL All Rookie Team

Exciting news regarding a couple of prospects for the Boston Bruins, who were recently named to the AHL's 2022-23 All-Rookie Team.

Making an Early Impression



It was announced on Tuesday afternoon that Providence Bruins' rookies, forward Georgii Merkulov and goaltender Brandon Bussi were given the honor.




Bussi, 24, finished the season with a 21-5-4 record, a 2.38 GAA and the second best SV% in the league at .925 SV%. He also represented Providence at the 2023 AHL All-Star Weekend.

Merkulov finished second in rookie points with 53. The 22-year-old led the team in goals (23) and was second in assists with (30).

The Ryazan, Russia, native also led the Bruins with 11 power play goals and was tied for the lead with five game-winners.
