What the Bruins Game 7 Lineup Should Look Like

If one thing is evident in this series, Jim Montgomery has to simplify things again and get back to the basics that led to the Bruins historic success this season.

Keep It Simple

Game six was another example of what has been wrong with Boston this series: turning the puck over repeatedly. This is a prime example of why a strong puck mover like Matthew Grzelcyk should be in the Bruins' lineup, especially with Hampus Lindholm struggling.




Last postseason, Derek Forbort was a machine on the penalty kill for the Bruins, but with how deep the blueline is this season, those PK abilities don't ''outshine'' the lapses in his game.

As Scott McLaughlin of WEEI pointed out before game six, the pairing of Forbort and Connor Clifton has not been good.


Another change Montgomery needs to consider is getting Trent Frederic back into the lineup, and based on how the series has gone, Nick Foligno has to sit. Not only does Frederic deserve it, but his versatility and speed over the veteran may be more needed.

It's almost like Montgomery is just overthinking things too much and needs to get back to what worked all season long. In my opinion, this is what the Bruins' game seven lineup should look like:


Regarding the goaltending: Linus Ullmark seems like something is bothering him, or he's exhausted because it's noticeable almost every time he gets up from making a save.
