If anybody was made for playoff hockey, moreover - Boston Bruins playoff hockey - it's Tyler Bertuzzi, and he proved that in game one against the Panthers.

Heck of a Debut!

Monday night's game at TD Garden was the first postseason game for Bertuzzi in his seven-year career, and he showed up in a big way. The 28-year-old finished the debut with two primary assists, three shots, two hits, and two blocks in 18:41 of time on ice.

But what could benefit the Bruins the most - the longer this series goes - is how Bertuzzi was a major thorn in the sides of the Panthers. A style that fans in Boston have come to know and love very much.

It shouldn't be surprising, however, because the last time Bertuzzi played playoff hockey, he led the Grand Rapids Griffins to a Calder Cup Championship in the AHL. He was awarded the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy for postseason MVP by collecting 19 points in 19 games.

His solid effort didn't go unnoticed either, as he was named second star of the game, while head coach Jim Montgomery and teammate Brad Marchand praised Bertuzzi post-game on Monday night.

Montgomery: ''When we acquired him, we thought he was a guy that was made for the playoffs.''

Marchand: ''I don't think there's any question marks about him. He's just one of those guys you hate to play against.''

But Bertuzzi credited it all to the Bruins fans in attendance for game one, as they made it feel like his debut with the team all over again. Check out his postgame media coverage below:
