In its 98-year history, the Boston Bruins have appeared in several game sevens, but will the team's recent track record be an indication of Sunday's outcome?

Staying on Trend

As Ty Anderson shared earlier today, the Bruins have actually fared well in game sevens of recent memory (after not closing it out in game six). Since 2008, they've gone 4-2, with their latest coming in 2008 agains the Maple Leafs.

Realistically, Boston has done well in game sevens after blowing their chance to close out the series the game before. I wonder if they also had 3-1 leads in any of those prior rounds.

Also according to Scott McLaughlin, this year's game seven against the Florida Panthers will set an NHL record for the most all-time:

''Sunday will be the Bruins' 30th Game 7 of all time, an NHL record. They are tied for the most Game 7 wins (15) & most Game 7 losses (14) ever.''

It will be interesting to see what kind of performance the Bruins come out with in front of a rocking TD Garden.

The Panthers have silenced that same crowd in two consecutive games, including game two (6-3) and game five (4-3 OT).
