The Boston Bruins changed the course of their team when 18 years ago on June 24th 2006 the team drafted Brad Marchand.

It's quite remarkable that this talent was drafted in the third round of the 2006 draft and has been viewed as a real steal from that time. Marchand Has been a machine for the Bruins and a steady point getter throughout his entire career. He also is known around the league as the biggest pest and hated by many fans and some players.

It took the Bruins five more years to win the Stanley Cup with Marchand on the team It has been a perennial 25 to 35 goal scorer over the years. As this season concludes, he played all 82 games scoring 29 goals with 38 assists for 67 points in as a + 2.

The team took a major step back in terms of goal scoring an offensive production as both David croce and Patrice Bergeron decided to retire in the same year. It's widely expected that Marchand will sign another contract with the Bruins which will put him as a Bruin for life.

In his career he has played 1029 games , scoring 401 goals with 528 assists for 9:00 129 points and it's a + 192 with 1051 penalty minutes.

The current Bruins captain we'll wait and see until July 1st on whether he will sign a new deal but for all intents and purposes it's likely it will be a done deal in no time.
