The Boston Bruins are taking on the Canadiens in their home opener tonight after an embarrassing loss to the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.
Heading into tonight's game Jim Montgomery has already made some changes to the Bruins defensive pairings, and has also made a change to his goaltender.
Now he has made an announcement regarding Matthew Poitras, who has not had an ideal start to the season so far.
During the last week of the preseason Matthew Poitras suffered an undisclosed injury, and was ruled out day-to-day by the Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery.
Today he finally made a return to practice with the Boston Bruins at Warrior Ice Arena, and it seemed like a return was near for the 20-year-old, but Jim Montgomery revealed he is going to miss the home opener tonight at TD Garden against the Montreal Canadiens.
Matthew Poitras surprised a lot of people after making the NHL roster for the Boston Bruins last year out of training camp, and went on to appear in 33 games before going down for the year with a shoulder injury. In those 33 games Poitras scored 5 goals, 10 assists, for 15 points as a 19-year-old rookie.
