With the regular season just around the corner, and with the Providence Bruins training camp starting tomorrow, the Boston Bruins have finally made some cuts from their roster.
Today it was announced that the Boston Bruins have cut 14 players and sent them all back to the Providence Bruins to gear up for a season in the AHL.
Pro Hockey Rumors listed all the players that were cut today, take a look:
Many were surprised to see Fabian Lysell, and Geogrii Merkulov on this list, as they were both fighting for a full-time roster spot with the Boston Bruins this year.
After the Boston Bruins lost Jake DeBrusk, the Bruins made it clear that they wanted to look internally for a replacement, and Fabian Lysell, and Geogrii Merkulov were the two that many thought would have the best chance at earning that spot.
Ultimately the Boston Bruins organization thought both these players were not ready for the position, and have sent that back down to play with the Providence Bruins in the AHL.
Did you expect either Merkulov or Lysell to make the Boston Bruins this year?
