The Boston Bruins have been looking for a top-six player for a couple of years, ever since Jake DeBrusk ended up leaving, and now their fate in acquiring Martin Necas may have just been confirmed.
Next off-season was expected to see a lot of big named players hit the free agent market.
Unfortunately for the Boston Bruins, a lot of the big named players have already signed new deals.
Martin Necas is another player the Boston Bruins have been linked to, and he hasn't signed yet, but a recent report revealed that the Bruins may as well miss out on him.

Necas is on a heater, he currently has 3 goals, 3 assists for 6 points, and is tied for second in league scoring with
Nathan MacKinnon and Kirill Kaprizov.

A new report this morning suggested that Necas is going to re-sign with the Colorado Avalanche, and avoid hitting free agency like the other big named players.
Pierre LeBrun confirmed today that he believes the Avalanche and Necas are going to get an extension done soon.
Pierre LeBrun: Re Martin Necas: "The player is OK taking his time and letting the season start before having his agent dig in deeper in talks with the Avs. I think that extension will eventually get done" - The Athletic (10/9)
