The 2026 NHL free agency class was expected to be a big one, but multiple players have already signed, and the Boston Bruins have missed out on another big name.

Boston Bruins fans were hoping that forward Jack Eichel would hit the open market following this year, and join the Boston Bruins.
A big reason for it is that Eichel is a Massachusetts native, and also the fact that he is a superstar in the league.
Plus the fact the Bruins are still looking for a true number one first-line center ever since Patrice Bergeron retired, but it looks like this isn't going to happen.
This season would have been the final year of Eichel's contract with the Vegas Golden Knights, and was set to become a free agent at the end of the year.
Unfortunately for the Boston Bruins, this is not going to happen as Eichel has officially signed a new deal.

Eichel signs a $108 million contract with the Vegas Golden Knights

Yesterday, the Vegas Golden Knights officially locked up their superstar, signing him to a eight-year, $108 million contract.
EIGHT MORE YEARS FOR NUMBER 9 🤩

We have signed Jack Eichel to an eight-year contract extension!!!!!!!! 🎰
Besides getting a massive offer from the Knights to keep him around, the Golden Knights offer him a very competitive team that is going to be a Stanley Cup contender for years to come.
Especially after adding the likes of Mitch Marner this off-season, it only furthers the fact that they are going to be contenders.
Appearing in 77 games last season, Eichel ended up scoring 28 goals, and setting new career highs in assists with 66, and points with 94.
The Boston Bruins would love to add a player that has that type of production, and just thinking of Eichel playing would Pastrnak is a dream all Bruins fans would love to see come true.
Next off-season is still going to have some big names like Martin Necas, Alex Tuch, Artemi Panarin, and Nick Schmaltz.

Do you think the Boston Bruins could have offered Jack Eichel a bigger contract than the eight-year, $108 million one he signed?
