A few years ago in the dreaded year of 2020, that year was made even worse for Arizona Coyotes fans as they were punished by the NHL for tampering with the draft process. They were stripped of their 2020 2nd round pick and 2021 1st round pick as a punishment.
Well, rival Toronto Maple Leafs were accused of doing the exact same thing, which could cost them a couple picks. They're going to bring in the prospects after the official scouting combine.
However, according to The Hockey Writers Peter Baracchhini, it is not against the rules because it's after the actual event. The Coyotes did it before the combine, and that's why they got in trouble.
