Today the Boston Bruins made a move calling up an enforcer from their American Hockey League club, the Providence Bruins.
In an announcement, the Bruins revealed that they have called up Jeffrey Viel, who is not shy to drop the gloves.
The Boston Bruins have struggled this season so far, and many believe that it is due to not having enough energy from their players.
Viel is the type of player that will bring that energy to the Boston Bruins lineup, and could be the missing piece the Bruins need.
Viel only has a combined 49 games played in the NHL as a and only 5 points, but he isn't being called up to score the Bruins goals.
If that happens, then it's definitely a bonus but he is a fearless competitor and will instantly make an impact on the Bruins roster.
The Boston Bruins have only 8 wins in their first 19 games with an 8-8-3 record.
They currently sit fourth in the Atlantic with the Ottawa Senators right behind them with games in hand, and 17th in the entire league.
As of now they sit in a playoff, but they are sitting in the second wild card spot, and if they keep playing how they are, they won't be in a playoff spot for much longer.
Taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight, the Boston Bruins are looking to get back into the win column.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, as the Bruins host the Blue Jackets at TD Garden.
