Major concern involving Jeremy Swayman has surfaced and it's not looking good

The Boston Bruins have said that signing Jeremy Swayman would be a priority there's been a lack of communication, which is a huge red flag.

The Bruins have signed free agents such as Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov, while Swayman has received a qualifying offer, but hasn't signed a contract yet.

With DeBrusk's departure it seems that Sweeney would rather sign a new top-six winger, than make a official offer to the Bruins #1 goalie.

After Monday's signings, the Bruins have $8,636,666 in cap space, according to CapFriendly, which should be enough to get Swayman locked up for the foreseeable future. General manager Don Sweeney said Monday the goalie remains a priority, and how their newcomers won't get in the way of getting a deal done.

Jeremy Swayman is looking for an $8 M AAV contract, which would make signing a new winger, difficult.

When Sweeeny was asked about the lack of progress for a new contract for Sway, Sweeny responded:

«Sway is a big part of this whole dynamic of what we're trying to put together. It's a priority for us, we're going to continue to find a negotiated landing spot, and the timing is what it is, however long that takes,» Sweeney said. «It's not impacted by what we did today. We're in a great spot to find as I said, the best negotiated deal we can find for both sides.»

Sweeney seems to speak out of both sides of his mouth, as according to NHL Insiders, a new winger has taken priority over Sway's new deal.

Swayman led the Bruins with a 25-10-8 record, a 2.53 GAA, and a .916 save percentage in 2023-2024.
