Tough break for Connor Timmins and the Maple Leafs. Timmins, who was having an outstanding preseason, is now facing a potentially long-term injury.

According to coach Sheldon Keefe, Timmins sustained a lower body injury late in Friday's game against Montreal. He's set to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury. Adding to the Leafs' woes, they're already dealing with an injury to John Klingberg on the right side.

Timmins, initially brought in as a depth player, exceeded expectations during the preseason. He notched an impressive six points in just two games, leading the team in preseason scoring.

Sheldon Keefe summed it up, saying, "Not just the camp he has had, he has worked incredibly hard...to have a setback is tough news for him and for us."

The exact moment of Timmins' injury remains unclear, but it appears to have gone largely unnoticed at the time. Timmins has had his share of injuries since entering the league in 2017, including a concussion and knee issues.
