Ben Chiarot has been a quality add to Florida's d-core this season.

He has been playing alongside Aaron Ekblad on the Panthers top pair as of late, eating up some important minutes all while shutting down his opponents like the best of them.

However, in Game 1 of the Florida-Tampa Bay series, Chiarot's high intensity led him to lose his cool against one of the Lightning's third-liners, Ross Colton, which led to the following incident.

Despite the whole thing happening right in front of the referee, no penalty for headbutting was called on the play. Instead, both players were given a two-minute minor penalty for cross-checking.

Chiarot must've thought he got away with the headbutt, but the NHL's Player Safety Department thought otherwise.

The two-second incident ends up costing Chiarot five thousand dollars, the maximum fine that can be imposed by the League.

Next time he should use his head... in a whole other way.
