The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney have made their first trade of the day.
Sweeney has hooked up with the Anaheim Ducks for another trade.
The Bruins have shipped off forward Danton Heinen and in return the Bruins will land forward Nick Ritchie.
Ritchie will add a physical presence to the Bruins forward group, and while he hasn't fully lived up to all his expectations he will likely find a boost being in a winning Bruins lineup.
Ricthie has 109 points and 331 penalty minutes in 287 career NHL games.
