With Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chara still sidelined because of injury, the Boston Bruins won't be making any immediate moves.
However both players have started skating by themselves and a return is on the horizon, which means general manager Don Sweeney is likely getting busy working the phone lines.
A huge rumor started to circulate last night involving a blockbuster deal that would make some Bruins' fans happy while making others extremely upset.
The chatter of a deal involving Milan Lucic coming back to the Boston Bruins has surfaced again, however this time the return going the other way is surprising.
David Backes could be sent away to Edmonton for Lucic, Backes enjoyed some great success playing for new Oilers head coach Ken Hitchcock while the duo were in St. Louis.
Backes would give the Oilers some much needed depth up front, while Lucic would bring some grit the Bruins need while possibly find his scoring touch again.
Both players carry a $6million cap hit, with the 34 year old Backes having two less years on his contract.
Would you be willing to make this trade?
