Over the last week or so, speculation has grown that Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug could be on his way to the Edmonton Oilers.
Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli is looking for a puck moving defenseman and some media members have labeled Krug as expendable.
Krug of course has a modified no trade clause that kicks in this summer, so if the Bruins want to move him, it'll definitely be before that clause kicks in.
The Bruins need a first round draft pick and Chiarelli has stated that their #10 overall pick is definitely in play.
Mark Divver of the Providence Journal also pointed out an interesting observation. Oilers scout Scott Harlow was a regular at Providence Bruins games and Divver believes that Peter Cehlarik could also be in play.
It'll be interesting to see what exactly happens this summer, but it's starting to look more and more that Krug will be in play.
