According to NHL Insider Chris Johnston, Dan Byslma will change the status quo again:

"New #SeaKraken head coach Dan Bylsma tells reporters in Seattle that Jessica Campbell will be considered for a job on his coaching staff.

There's never been a full-time female assistant coach in the NHL before."

With this statement, Dan Byslma refuses to continue the NHL's current coaching carousel, which is refreshing as NHL front office's need new blood.

This isn't the first time Byslma, went with the third option instead of the typical status quo, using Kori Cheverie in a pre-season game in the NHL. Which made her the first woman to work behind the bench in the league.

Prior to her current post as Head Coach of PWHL Montreal, she worked with the Seattle Kraken and Pittsburgh Penguins.

In the meantime, Bylsma and Campbell are attending to matters in the AHL, as the Coachella Valley Firebirds continue their playoff run.

Tues Jun 4th, at 7:00 PM the Firebirds continue their struggle against the Milwaukee Admirals in the Western Conference Finals of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

The Firebirds currently lead the series 2-0.
